A Little Oasis Away From The City

To live in Southern California is something many wish and dream of. Famously known for its warm and sunny weather all year long, beautiful and towering palm trees lining up the streets, not to mention the incredible selection of great eateries showcasing various amazing cuisines from all over the world, it's no surprise that SoCal remains to be one of the most popular domestic and/or international travel destinations for leisure (and business!).
Without a doubt, it's almost impossible to talk about this megaregion without mentioning the golden, sandy beaches. Due to its geographic location, SoCal is home to a wide variety of landscape collections that are rich in diversity more than any other major region in the state and in the country. This evidently makes living in a metropolis, such as Los Angeles, all the more inviting and exciting because of its close proximity to sandy shores. One of those beaches is none other than Manhattan Beach.
Sitting 21 miles away from the City of Angels in the southwestern area of LA County, this coastal city makes for a perfect destination when in need of a quick getaway from one's hectic urban life. Whether you simply want to enjoy and soak up the sun without having to feel too claustrophobic (cough, Santa Monica Beach) or ride a bicycle along the strip in appreciation of the beauty of your surroundings, Manhattan Beach is the place for you.
With such a different cool, laid-back vibe despite being so close to Los Angeles, it's no wonder Manhattan Beach has become a favorite to many (including myself). From the casual-fine dining restaurants and cafes, to funky dive bars, this surf town's burgeoning downtown and night life scene has definitely placed a spotlight on this little oasis for possibly years to come.
